So.
I've decided I have not been managing my creative outlet very well. So I'm bringing back the blog in hopes of helping that issue.
I've been back at The Crossing for 2 months...it's been...hmmm...different from last summer. I'm here for a year. a year, year. Like, 365 days. wowza. It's taken some time getting used to new supervisors, residents, and interns...but God is faithful and pretty much amazing...so everything seems to be working out.
I'm loving the kids. In the next couple of days a few families will be leaving for various reasons, which is a bummer...but permanent housing is good too. There's quite a few kids here that have been here since last summer...and new ones that are a blast! I'm realizing that I do like working with teens as well as the little ones...which is something I never thought I would say...oh man. I was so pumped yesterday.
We have a few tweens here who desparately needed their hair cut. Well, last week we got coupons for free haircuts and so they were able to get their hair cut! So...the girls come into the office yesterday and they looked like divas for real. One of the boys goes "ohh girl you be lookin like Halle Berry!" haha. But it was awesome because their confidence went through the roof! One of the girls had no concept of brushing her hair or anything and so she ended up with major rat's nests...bummer. But not anymore! PTL.
So...this happened a while ago but it makes me chuckle whenever I think about it: I was lunging toward the door to catch it before it shut and locked when 3yr old T looks at me and says: "Wow! You are awesome!" (she kindof says "are" not like "R" but like "awra")
I laughed so hard. She was later telling herself she was awesome when she was holding the door open "wow, I am awesome"...oh man.
well..I have to get to work soon! I'll hopefully figure out a way to post pics on this thing!! have a happy day.
About Me

- "Anyone who sets himself up as "religious" by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world." James 1:26 (The Message)
